titleOfInvention floor tile
abstract A modular floor tile for use in creating a floor covering surface comprising a plurality of such tiles, the tile comprising: a body formed from a first polymeric compound having an upper surface and a generally lower surface, the body having a plurality of holes extending from the upper surface to the generally lower surface; at least one upper segment formed of a second polymer compound other than the first polymeric compound and shaped to be disposed on the upper surface of the body; and at least one lower support member having a portion formed from the second polymer, the lower support member extending downwardly from the general lower surface of the body, the portion of the at least one lower support member and the at least one segment being formed in a continuous phase and connected to each other through the holes.
