abstract | A protease inhibitor (I) is prepd. from an aerobic culture of Streptomyces Violascens NRRL 3859 by filtering the broth, opt. removing impurities from the filtrate by pptn. and spray- or freeze-drying. The crude powder can be further purified by extn. and/or dialysis and/or ultrafiltration. (I) is useful in controlling enzymic processes, e.g. preservation of tissues, treatment of shock and thrombi, isolation and purification of enzymes and mfr. of fish meal. |
