abstract | Dry cell has Mn dioxide as cathode depolariser, showing index of (110) plane of ramsdellite in X-ray diffraction pattern at 28 degrees with sharp intensity, value of X in MnO2 being 1.970-1.990 and active O content 94-98.5% (gamma T-MnO2). Alternatively, X may be 1.950-1.970 and active O content 90-94% (fibrous gamma L-MnO2). This Mn dioxide with new orientation can be produced by electrolysis of MnCl2/HCl soln. |
