titleOfInvention | Method and device for coating textile material |
abstract | Textile strand yarn or cord impregnating machine (Un)twisted strand material is fed endwise through a rotating chamber to which liquid coating material is supplied to form a layer on its inner wall. Strand withdrawal is at such a rate that the strand is slack enough to contact the chamber inner wall and be impregnated and coated with the liquid. Spec. the chamber applies false twist to the strand, in the opposite direction to any real twist already in the strand so that impregnation is assisted, while untwisted strand is given twist before drying the strand, as in a countercurrent air-flow heated tube, and winding it into a package. Impregnation and coating with elastomer adhesive of glass fibre strands for reinforcing tyres other rubber articles. |
