abstract The fluid explosive, e.g. saltpeter acid esters, is forced to an injector by the wt. of the water cushion and water is passed through the feed system at intervals to flush it through and prevent a dangerous level of explosive matter building up on the walls. A valve and top-up system maintains the water level, and a bypass lead is provided as an extra safety measure.
