titleOfInvention | Dyestuff modification with aziridines - to improve solubility in water and affinity to cellulose fibres |
abstract | Dyes are modified by process of DT 2018855, an -OH or -nh2 gp. in the dye being reacted with an aziridine (opt. substd. ethylene imine) and polymerised by opening of the aziridine ring and reaction with excess aziridine. An azo dye inter. may be first treated in this way and then coupled to form the dye. A wide range of azo and other dyes and inters. e.g. naphthol- and amino- naphthol-sulphonic acids contg. -OH or -NH2 gps., may be treated. |
