abstract Antioxidants particularly suitable for aqs. synthetic rubber like latexes are bis beta-(hydroxyaryl)-beta-arylalkyl mono- and di-sulphides, preferably mono- and di-thiobis-(beta-arylalkylene-diphenols. Preparation is by reaction of a phenol with a mono- or di-thiodialkylene halo-compound, preferably a bis-(beta-halo-beta-arylalkyl) mono- or di-sulphide which is prepared from S monohalide plus beta-arylolefin diluted with inert solvent below 45 degrees C.
