titleOfInvention Process for the production of pure dilute sulfuric acid from waste acids
abstract Approx. 70% pure H2SO4 is produced by extracting waste nitrating acid 2 - 6 times with benzene at 10 - 50 degrees C or by subjecting to equiv. counter-current extraction in extractor with 2 - 6 theor. plates; separating benzene phase; exposing acid phase to countercurrent air stream in trickling tower at 40 - 100 degrees C; and treating benzene free acid with 0.1 - 1 wt.% (referred to acid) of 30 - 40 wt.% H2O2. Process is continuous and gives acid suitable for other chemical purposes.
