titleOfInvention Improved Septum Implant
abstract Rhinological implant (10; 20; 30) for straightening the nasal septum, which can be fastened on both sides of the septum of the human nose on the respective outer surface of the septum in the left and right side of the nasal cavity, the implant (10; 20; 30) having a central back section (11a; 21a; 31a) which is flat or only very slightly angled upwards from a horizontal plane with a spread angle ω>100° or barrel-shaped with a radius of curvature r≥0.5 mm from the horizontal plane and is curved upwards and implanted state encompasses the free lower edge of the septum, with two side sections (12a, 13a; 22a, 23a; 32a, 33a) of the implant (10; 20; 30) on either side of the central back section (11a; 21a; 31a) being provided which are symmetrical to the central back section (11a; 21a; 31a) at an angle φ of approximately 90° in each case towards the central back section (11a; 21a; 31a), bent upwards, and which in the implanted state the two opposite outer surfaces of the septum are in full contact, with the implant (10; 20; 30) is unfolded prior to implantation from an initially flat blank into its later, implantable three-dimensional shape, with the two side sections (12a, 13a; 22a, 23a; 32a, 33a) of the implant (10; 20; 30) each having a first partial section ( 12a', 13a'; 22a', 23a'; 32a', 33a'), which directly adjoins the central back section (11a; 21a; 31a) and runs essentially parallel to it, and wherein the two side sections (12a ,13a; 22a,23a; 32a,33a) each have a second section (12a'',13a''; 22a'',23a''; 32a'',33a'') which is attached to the respective first section ( 12a', 13a'; 22a', 23a'; 32a', 33a') and runs at an angle relative to it, characterized in that on one of the respective second partial sections (12a'', 13a''; 22a'', 23a ''; 32a'', 33a'') opposite end of the respective first section (12a', 13a'; 22a', 23a'; 32a', 33a') respectively a third section (12a''', 13a''' , 22a''', 23a''', 32a''' , 33a''') and opposite the respective first section (12a', 13a'; 22a',23a'; 32a', 33a') is also angled.
