titleOfInvention A system for an improved long-range surface plasmon resonance (LR-SPR) sensor with extremely high imaging sensitivity
abstract A system for an improved long-range surface plasmon resonance (LR-SPR) imaging sensor with ultra-high imaging sensitivity and figure of merit, the system comprising:a chalocogenide glass (2S2G) prism for coupling the incident light to surface plasmons in the structure of the LR-SPR image sensor; a dielectric buffer layer (DBL) for the excitation of Long-Range Surface Plasmon Polaritons (LR-SPPs), wherein the selected dielectric buffer layer has a refractive index close to the refractive index of a sensor medium in order to fulfill the condition for the excitation;a plasmonic metal layer for generation of surface plasmons over a dielectric buffer layer, the plasmonic metal layer being wavelength dependent;an antimonene to improve the performance of the LR-SPR sensor and to physically adsorb biomolecules contained in the sensor sample, the antimonene acting as a biorecognition element (BRE) layer or transducer medium m is used over the metal film with a monolayer antimonene thickness of 0.5 nm; anda sensor medium for the detection of biomolecules, wherein the refractive index range is 1.33-1.38.
