abstract | Coating station (10) for applying an outside insulation layer (110) to the housing (204) of a battery cell (202) having the following features: a. the coating station (10) has at least one automatically movable coating applicator (20) for applying the coating material (100) in the form of discrete individual drops (102, 122), and b. the coating station (10) has a workpiece holder (70) for fixing a battery cell (202), and c. the coating station (10) is designed to carry out the following method: 1. the coating is carried out with a liquid electrically insulating coating material (100), and 2. the coating is carried out using a coating applicator (20) by applying discretely generated individual drops (102) of the coating material (100) which form coating points (104) on an outer surface (210A, 210B, 210C) of the preferably prismatic housing (204), and 3. the coating points (104) are applied sequentially adjacent to one another or overlapping one another by means of the coating applicator (20), so that they jointly form coating lines (106). |
