abstract | Rubbery polymers are recovered, in the form of hard particles, from the reaction solution contg. inert non-aq., volatile solvent and a water-hydrolysable alkali metal salt catalyst. The polymerisn. products are mixed with water and the volatile products driven off, by steam in the presence of 0.02-2 wt. % of a surfactant which is a polymeric salt of an anionic alkali metal surfactant containing -COOM, -SO3M, -OSO3M groups (where M = alkali metal), which are attached toa hydrophobic aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon, having 10-40C's. |
