abstract Fungicidally active 2-methoxycarbonylaminobenzothiazole, prepn. Title cpd., of formula (I): has fungicidal activity against Botrytis cinerea, Erysiphe graminis and Tilletia tritici and is suitable for pre- and post-emergent and plant-protective use, part. in agriculture. In an example, 150 p.b.w. dioxan are mixed with 15 p.b.w. 2-aminobenzothiazole and 10.2 p.b.w. N(C2H5)3, and soln. is treated at 20 degrees C with 9.5 p.b.w. methyl chloroformate, stirred 1 hr. at 60 degrees C, cooled, and (I) ppted. wit water after removing N(C2H5)3.HCl, and dried.
