abstract | Europium activated yttrium and/or godolinium phosphate-vanadate phosphors have the formula: M1-xEuxV1-y-z PyM1zO4 (where M is yttrium and/or gadolinium; x is 0.01-0.08; M1 is Ta and/or Nb and y is 0.05 and z is 0-0.015 and pref. 0.001-0.005 and esp. z is approx. 0.002). Such phosphors have improved light intensity and temp. characteristics compared to other vanadate and phosphate-vanadate phosphors. They are esp. suitable for use in high pressure mercury vapour lamps. |
