abstract A method of detecting at least one multidrug-resistant germ species using a flow cytometer comprising the following steps: 1.1 producing a germ suspension, 1.2 Multiplication of the germs in a nutrient solution, 1.3 adding at least one fluorescent dye offset indicator for the particular germ species sought, which specifically attaches to or couples to that germ species; 1.4 adding a fluorescent dye other than an indicator of damaged cells and a key antibiotic for testing resistance; 1.5 passing the suspension thus formed through the flow cytometer and irradiating the largely isolated germs successively with a laser beam, 1.6 Measuring each of the dyes associated fluorescence radiations upon impact of the laser beam on a germ to be tested and 1.7 Evaluating the plurality of individual measurements at least as to whether and / or how many are proportionally or numerically below, in which the particular type of germ sought in connection with a resistance to the antibiotic was determined.
