Device for reducing the nitrogen oxide content in an exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine |
abstract |
For the catalytic reduction of exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine containing nitrogen oxides, a device is proposed which has an exhaust pipe (1) which can be connected at one end to at least one exhaust gas outlet of the internal combustion engine. A reducing agent, in particular urea, is introduced into the exhaust line (1) through a feed device (3). The device has at least one mixer (2), which is arranged in the flow direction of an exhaust gas downstream of the supply of the reducing agent in the exhaust line (1). The mixer (2) has a plurality of channels (9) through which fluid can flow. At least one catalytic converter (7) is arranged downstream of the mixer. At least one diffuser (6) is provided between the mixer (2) and the converter (7), which has a plurality of channels (21) through which exhaust gas can flow and which have an increasing cross section in the flow direction. |
