titleOfInvention Device for studying the behavior of environmental chemicals under natural conditions
abstract The invention relates to a device for investigating the behavior and degradation of environmental chemicals in a closed system, the device comprising at least one essentially filled container, the lysimeter, and a volatility chamber arranged above the surface of the floor, the volatility chamber comprising the volatile compounds from a defined floor area. Preferably, the device additionally comprises a plant chamber which detects volatile compounds from a selected plant from the plant population. The test system according to the invention (lysimeter system) enables the determination of the displacement, transport, leaching, conversion (metabolization), mineralization and volatilization of chemicals under natural climatic conditions both without the influence of plants and under the influence of plants in the Lysimeter contained soil column as well as the mineralization and volatilization of chemicals under natural climatic conditions of plant surfaces. The invention also relates to a method for testing chemicals in soils using the device according to the invention.
