The invention relates to oil pump gears that are used in an external gear pump, the housing of which is made of die-cast aluminum. In order to keep the pump losses caused by oil backflow between the gearwheels and the housing as low as possible, even at higher operating temperatures, the thermal expansion of the gearwheels must be adapted to that of the housing. Furthermore, the gears must have high strength and good sliding properties. For this reason, the oil pump gearwheels are manufactured from a powdery Al / Si alloy formed by spray compacting, to which about 30% by weight of pure aluminum powder is added, by pressing and subsequent sintering. |
