abstract The present invention relates to promoters which increase the pathogen inducibility of genes in plants, preferably in sugar beet, oilseed rape, potato, corn, soybeans, wheat, rice, rye, barley, cotton and sunflowers. DOLLAR A The new promoters are further characterized in that they lead to rapid local expression of the gene under their control in various organs and tissues of transgenic plants, such as leaves, shoots and / or roots, after panthogen attack or wounding. This property makes these sequences an ideal regulatory element for the controlled expression of antifugal compounds and thus for the development of fungus-resistant plants.
