abstract The present invention relates to strong-color interference pigments based on multi-coated platelet-shaped substrates which have at least one layer sequence of DOLLAR A (A), a high-index coating consisting of a mixture of TiO¶2¶ and Fe¶2¶O¶3¶ in a ratio of 1: 1 to 1: 2 and optionally one or more metal oxides in amounts of 20% by weight based on the layer (A), DOLLAR A (B) of a colorless coating with a refractive index n 1.8, DOLLAR A and optionally DOLLAR A ( C) have an outer protective layer DOLLAR A.
