abstract The invention relates to the field of fire-fighting technology and, more particularly, to pyrotechnic compositions for extinguishing fires and a method for their manufacture. DOLLAR A The invention enables the production of pyrotechnic aerosol-forming compositions with predetermined physical and mechanical properties, increased combustion rate, reduced combustion temperature and a higher mass fraction of the 1-2 μm solid particles in the aerosol. DOLLAR A The pyrotechnic aerosol-forming composition for extinguishing fires comprises as a gas aerosol-forming agent dicyandiamide of the fractions 40-80 mum and 7-15 mum at a mass ratio of 80:20, as fuel / binder formaldehyde polycondensate with an organic compound, preferably selected from the group consisting of of melamine, carbamide and phenol, the fractions 70-120 mum and 10-25 mum at a mass ratio of 70:30 and an alkali metal nitrate as the oxidizing agent of the fractions 15-25 mum and 1-7 mum at a mass ratio of 25:75 following component proportions in% by mass: DOLLAR A gas aerosol former 9-20 DOLLAR A fuel / binder 6-14 DOLLAR A oxidizing agent remainder. DOLLAR A The process for preparing the composition comprises the prior application of potassium chromate, potassium dichromate, ammonium dichromate or graphite to the surface of the Oxidizing agent and mixing the components in a given order. DOLLAR A The invention can be used in fire extinguishing technology.
