abstract | The present invention relates to a process for the distillative separation of a liquid crude aldehyde mixture which contains straight-chain and branched aldehydes, the product mixture being converted into a product stream of branched aldehyde, a product stream of straight-chain aldehyde and a further product stream, the straight-chain aldehyde and the in a first distillation column contains high-boiling components, separates. The further product stream is then separated into a product stream of straight-chain aldehyde and a high boiler product stream in a second distillation column, the packing volume of which is smaller by a factor of 50 to 200 than that of the first distillation column. |
