titleOfInvention Fuel element with fuel rods for a boiling water reactor
abstract In the case of fuel elements for boiling water reactors, a change in the physical state of a coolant in the region of the vertical expansion of its fuel rods is provided in operational terms. This results in special requirements for a fuel time constant that significantly influences the stability behavior of the fuel assembly. According to the invention, this fuel time constant is changed positively in that the proportion of fissile material in at least one tablet (1) in its shell (2) is at most half as large as in its body (3).
