abstract Process for the purification of tetrahydrofurans used as material for polyether polyol, comprising the treatment of crude tetrahydrofurans represented by the general formula (I) with mineral acid, then immediate distillation by simple distillation and / or rectification wherein R 1 and R 2 represent a hydrogen atom or a normal chain alkyl group or a grafted residue whose carbon number is 1 to 5, and may be the same or different, wherein 1 is the mineral acid nitric acid, sulfuric acid or phosphoric acid and wherein the temperature at the crude tetrahydrofurans are treated with the mineral acid, ranging from room temperature to the boiling point of the tetrahydrofurans.
