titleOfInvention Disc for continuously adjustable toroidal gear
abstract A disc for a continuously variable toroidal transmission contains a traction surface with a concave cross section, which is located between an end section with a small diameter and an end section with a large diameter. A through hole is formed in the central portion of the end face of the disc on the side of the small diameter end portion, which extends through the disc to the end face on the side of the large diameter end portion of the disc, the inner peripheral surface of the through hole being used as the inner diameter surface of the disc. If, among the metal flow lines in the disk, there is a metal flow line which has a spatial relationship with respect to the surface of the disk, such that an angle THETA between the metal flow line on the side of the traction surface and the tangent of the traction surface is less than or equal to 30 degrees than "Metal flow line along the disk surface" is defined, the disk is structured so that this "metal flow line along the disk surface" is present at least in the traction surface.
