abstract Preparations of particles with a glass surface, where more than 75% by weight of these particles have a grain size of between 0.5 and 15 μm and with a glass surface which contains a proportion of between 2 and 6 mol% of zinc oxide, have been found proven particularly advantageous in nucleic acid purification processes. In particular, an increased nucleic acid yield is achieved.
