abstract The invention relates to a method for producing a lithium-stabilized Me-ß '' - Al¶2¶O¶3¶ ceramic, where Me stands for lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium, cesium, copper, silver or tantalum. It is produced by firing a mixture of the following starting materials: DOLLAR A - lithium aluminate of the type Li¶2¶O x nAl¶2¶O¶3¶ with n = 1, DOLLAR A - an aluminate of the type Me¶2¶O x nAl¶ 2¶O¶3¶ with n = 1, and DOLLAR A - gamma-Al¶2¶O¶3¶.
