abstract |
The invention relates to a method and a test kit for quantitative assessment of the oxidative modification of proteinaceous substances or the oxidative stress in living organisms by measuring the antiradical properties of their proteinaceous components, eg. B. body fluids or tissue. The essence of the invention is that the samples after separation of low molecular weight antioxidants, e.g. B. by means of gel chromatography in a free radical generating system and the measurement results with those of a sample of the same composition of amino acids, but without oxidative stress (standard value), are compared. The method of measuring the antiradical activity of proteins is based on the feature according to the invention that some non-oxidatively modified amino acids as components of the proteins do not have this property, but acquire them during the oxidative stress. |
