abstract Capture of a target material having acidity or basicity and contained in a gas, during the production of a liquid, comprises contacting the gas with a solid layer of a capture agent having acidity or basicity to form a salt, extracting the salt using an extraction medium, contacting the extraction medium containing the salt with an adsorption agent and using a second extraction medium to extract the target product from the adsorber. Capture of a target material having acidity or basicity and contained in a gas, during the production of a liquid, comprises contacting the gas with a solid layer of a capture agent having acidity or basicity to form a salt, extracting the salt using an extraction medium, further contacting the extraction medium containing the salt with an adsorption agent and using a second extraction medium to extract the target product from the adsorber. Independent claims are included for a capture element comprising a basic support of hydrophilically treated fluorine polymer and an acidic capture agent at 1.5-15 mg/cm<3> of the support and an apparatus for capturing the target material as above comprising a capture element, an extraction agent introducing unit, a second capture element and a second extraction agent introducing unit.
