abstract Described is the use of creatine and / or creatine derivatives as humectants (moisturizers) in cosmetic preparations, in particular creatine monohydrate and creatine ascorbate optionally together with other suitable humectants especially in creams, gelatinous or liquid preparations, but also administered orally become. The creatine component should be present in amounts of from 0.5 to 10% by weight, based on the total preparation, or not exceed a daily dose of 10 g. The appropriately formulated creatine-containing preparations in particular improve the elastic properties of the skin, thus contributing to wrinkle smoothing and eliminating cracks and dandruff.
