titleOfInvention Compact single lens theta microscope
abstract The invention relates to a compact confocal microscope that can be used as a theta microscope with a single lens or with a double lens system. The microscope is distinguished by separate illumination and detection directions, the detection direction in the object being inclined relative to the direction of illumination by a predetermined angle, which is chosen such that the overlapping area of the illumination volume with the detection volume is reduced compared to a conventional confocal microscope. A beam splitter or a reflector for coupling the illuminating light and / or for coupling out the detection light is located in the beam path between the objective and an image plane of the microscope. The illumination light can be coupled into the microscope and / or the detection light can be coupled out of the microscope via one or more optical fibers in each case.
