abstract A composition for use in a water reservoir in the kitchen or sanitary sector, characterized by a base composition which functions essentially after addition to a first water supply of the water reservoir, in the form of a tablet; and at least one particle having at least one core comprising at least one substance which exhibits its function substantially after at least partial emptying of the first water feed from the water reservoir and supply of fresh water thereto, and one of the core (s) in FIG a substantially completely enveloping enclosure comprising at least one compound whose solubility increases with decreasing concentration of a specific ion in the surrounding medium; wherein the at least one particle is disposed in or on the tablet such that the surface of the particle (s) is at most partially in direct contact with the surface of the base composition surrounding it and the concentration of the specific ion in the local Surrounding the particle (s) until the substantially complete dissolution of the tablet is sufficiently high to prevent significant dissolution of the cladding or substantial delamination of the cladding from the core (s).
