titleOfInvention |
Ionization of high molecular substances by laser desorption from liquid matrices |
abstract |
The invention relates to the low-fragment and low-adduct ionization of high molecular weight analyte molecules, in particular large biopolymers, by matrix-assisted laser desorption (MALDI) from liquid matrix for the mass spectrometric analysis of the resulting ions, in particular for their molecular weight determination. DOLLAR A The invention consists in using liquids with extremely low vapor pressures from the group of the at least trihydric alcohols with at least one ether bond (ether polyols or polyether polyols) as matrix substances. These can be used directly for energy absorption and ionization by infrared lasers (IR-MALDI), but other lasers, for example conventional UV lasers, can also be used by dissolving absorbing substances for other wavelength ranges. |
