abstract |
The invention relates to composites consisting of an inorganic oxide or sol based on elements of the II. To V. main and sub-group in which one or more difficultly hydrolyzable organic boric acid derivatives and optionally polymeric additives are homogeneously incorporated. The composite material shows a delayed release of boric acid and is therefore suitable for improving the mechanical properties of wood and other renewable raw materials and for protecting them from animal and plant pests. |
