abstract The present invention relates to a process for the synthesis of fly ash-based zeolite-A, the process comprising: DOLLAR A crushing and mixing fly ash and sodium hydroxide in a ratio of 1: 1.2 and optionally adding sodium aluminate or aluminum hydroxide to a fine to get homogeneous melt flow mixture; DOLLAR A heating the mixture in an inert vessel at about 500-600 ° C. for about 1-2 hours to obtain a melt mass; DOLLAR A Cool, grind, and mix the melt in distilled water for about 8-10 hours with simultaneous optional addition of sodium aluminate or alum solution in the presence or absence of NaCl, followed by optional addition of a Zeolite A seed to form a slurry of amorphous aluminum silicate to obtain; DOLLAR A subjecting the slurry to hydrothermal crystallization at about 90-110 ° C for 2-4 hours to obtain zeolite A crystals; and DOLLAR A washing the crystals with water and then subjecting the washed crystals to oven drying at about 50-60 ° C to obtain the FAZ-A crystals.
