abstract In the case of a method for producing platelet preparation (27) which is low in leukocytes and erythrocytes, from a platelet concentrate (26) which contains leukocytes and a remaining proportion of erythrocytes, the platelet concentrate (26) is first centrifuged. The platelet concentrate is then filtered through a leukocyte depletion filter (21) starting with the centrifugation supernatant. Before the leukocyte depletion filter (21), the erythrocyte portion in the platelet concentrate (26) to be filtered is monitored (16) and when a certain erythrocyte portion is reached, the entire filtering process is terminated (Figure).
