abstract The sensor contains a lower electrode and a non-magnetic metal layer, which is formed on the lower electrode and contains ferromagnetic zones. A second non-magnetic metal layer on the first non- magnetic metal layer, and a third layer on the second, also have ferromagnetic zones. An upper electrode is formed on the third non-magnetic metal layer. Furthermore a tunnel insulating film is arranged between the first and third layers. An Independent claim is also included for a magnetic head.
