abstract | A supported catalyst system containing a cocatalyst, in which the main catalyst component is a bridged bis-indenyl-metallocene derivative in the form of an isomer mixture with a rac:meso ratio of (1:10)-(2:1). A catalyst system containing: (a) support(s); (b) cocatalyst(s); and (c) a rac-meso isomer mixture of metallocene(s) of formula (I) with a rac:meso ratio of (1:10)-(2:1). R<1>, R<2> = H or 1-20 C hydrocarbyl, but R<1> is not methyl if R<2> is H; M<1> = a Group 4, 5 or 6 transition metal; A = -(M<2>R<3>R<4>)o-, -(O-M<2>R<3>R<4>-O)o-, =C=CR<3>R<4>, =BR<3>, =AlR<3>, -S-, -SO-, -SO2-, =NR<3>, =PR<3>, =P(O)R<3>, o-phenylene or 2,2'-biphenylene; M<2> = carbon, silicon, germanium, tin, nitrogen or phosphorus; o = 1-4; R<3>, R<4> = H, halogen or 1-20 C hydrocarbyl, or the two groups together may form a mono- or polycyclic ring system; X = H, halogen, hydroxyl, 1-10 C alkyl or alkoxy, 6-15 C aryl or aryloxy, benzyl, -N(R<5>)2 or -Si(CH3)3; R<5> = 1-10C alkyl or 6-15C aryl. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of polyolefins by polymerisation of one or more olefins in presence of this catalyst system. |
