titleOfInvention | Device for determining the alcohol content in the dampening solution of printing presses or the like |
abstract | The invention relates to an automatic device for determining the alcohol content in the dampening solution of printing presses or the like. DOLLAR A The measuring device for the automatic determination of the freezing point depression contains a chamber, into which the dampening solution sample is introduced by means of a valve and is cooled down far below its freezing point. A thermometer is arranged in the center of this chamber, with which the reaching of the freezing point is recognized and the freezing point temperature is measured. The difference in freezing point from that of pure water serves as a measure of the alcohol concentration of the dampening solution. A Peltier element serves as an electrical cooler. The warm side of the Peltier cooler is in contact with the sample flowing in excess to remove the waste heat. As a result, the device achieves the required cooling rate. DOLLAR A A small computer controls the regular automatic repetition of the determination. |
