New mono- and bisazo dyes (I) are coupling products of diazotized aminoarene hetarene mono- or tri-(aza)methin cyanines and a triazolium coupler. New mono- and bisazo dyes, which are coupling products of diazotized aminoarene hetarene mono- or tri-(aza)methin cyanines and a triazolium coupler, are of formula (I): B = =N-N=N-,. =N-, =C(Q)-, =C(CN)-N=N-, =N-N=C(R)-, =C(CN)-N=C(CN)- or =C(CN)-C(Q)=C(Q)-; R = H, 1-4 C alkyl or optionally substituted aryl; Q = H, 1-10 C alkyl, an acceptor or COOR; R1, R2 = H, 1-10 C alkyl, 1--8 C alkoxy, cyano (CN) or halogen; or R1 and R2 = constituents of a condensed aromatic ring; A, Z, Y = atoms or groups forming an (un)saturated heterocyclic ring system; D = an aromatic; substituted aromatic azomethine linked through nitrogen (N); condensed heterocyclic ring system including the N atom in the 4-position and C atom in the 3-position of the triazolium ring or components forming a mesionic ring system with the triazonium system; E = optionally substituted alkyl, benzyl hydroxysulfonyl, hydroxycarbonyl or a bifunctional bright between 2 basic molecules; X<-> = Cl<->, BF4<->, PF6<->, SbF6<->, perchlorate or perfluorinated anion. |
