titleOfInvention Process for the preparation of styrene-butadiene random copolymers
abstract Production of random copolymers from monomers S and B by anionic polymerization comprises: (a) using a mixture containing monomers S and B in given initial concentrations; (b) bringing this mixture into contact with the polymerization initiator I or a growing polymer chain PBI or PSI; and (c) adding the remainder of monomer B at a rate determined by repeated solution of given differential equations. Production of random copolymers from monomers S and B by anionic polymerization with a polymerization initiator comprises: (a) using a mixture containing monomers S and B in initial concentrations (S)0 and (B)0 given by equation (1); (b) initiating copolymerization by bringing this mixture into contact with the polymerization initiator I or a growing polymer chain PBI or PSI; and (c) adding the remainder of monomer B at a rate rz for time t given by repeated solution of differential equations (2) to (6); -dB/dt = -rz .(B)z + (kSB/V) .
