abstract | Linear polysiloxanes with terminal silicon-bonded vinyl groups or hydrogen atoms are obtained by reacting vinyl-terminated polysiloxanes with hydrogen-terminated polysiloxanes in presence of a hydrosilylation catalyst. A process for the production of linear organopolysiloxanes of formula (I) with terminal silicon-bonded vinyl groups or hydrogen atoms comprises reacting vinyl-organopolysiloxanes of formula (II) with hydrogen-polysiloxanes of formula (III) in presence of catalysts for the addition reaction between silicon-bonded hydrogen and aliphatic multiple bonds: R = optionally substituted 1-18C hydrocarbyl; X = the same groups selected from R<1> and R<2>; R<1> = vinyl; R<2> = hydrogen; R<3> = -CH2CH2- or -CH(CH3)-; G = A or B; A = -SiR2-R<4>-SiR2O(SiR2O)m-; B = - SiR2-R<4>-SiR2O(SiR2O)o-; R<4> = 2-14C hydrocarbylene, optionally with 1-4 separate in-chain oxygen atoms; m, o = 0 or 1-200; n, p = 0 or 1-20; x = m or o; y = n or p; z = at least 2; (m + n) = 0 or more |
