titleOfInvention Liquid crystal polymer dispersion layers and process for their preparation
abstract Liquid crystal polymer dispersion layers (I) are in a sandwich arrangement between two glass plates or polymeric films, whose inner surfaces have a transparent, electrically conductive coating and are 10-100 microns apart. The layers (I) are mixture of (A) 35-70 wt.% liquid crystal substances (B) 2-25 wt.% finely dispersed fillers (C) 25-60 wt.% UV light cross-linking agent and (D) optionally 0.05-1 wt.% colouring agents. (I) are cross-linked with UV-radiation at 3-35 deg C. An Independent claim is included for a process for the production of (I) enclosing the mixture between glass plates or polymer films, and photochemically cross-linking with UV irradiation in a temperature controlled water bath at 3-35 deg C.
