Process for the preparation of ergosterol and its intermediates, characterized in that a) first constructing a plasmid on which at least 2 of the following genes are inserted: i) the gene of HMG-Co-A = reductase (t-HMG), ii) the gene of squalene synthetase (ERG9) iii) the acyl-CoA: sterol acyltransferase (SAT1) gene iv) the squalene epoxidase gene (ERG 1), or b) first constructing plasmids on each of which one of the genes mentioned under a is inserted, and c) transforming yeasts with the plasmids thus prepared, wherein the yeasts are transformed with a plasmid under a) or transformed with several plasmids under b) simultaneously or in succession, d) carrying out a fermentation to ergosterol with the yeasts thus produced, e) after fermentation, the ergosterol and its intermediates extracted from the cells and analyzed and finally f) the resulting ergosterol and its intermediates are purified by column chromatography and ... |
