abstract The x-ray image converter has a scintillator layer (5). It also has light sensitive pixel elements (3,4) arranged in a matrix. The converter also has an aSi semiconductor layer and an electro-luminescence layer (7) arranged behind the semiconductor layer in the beam direction. The electro-luminescent layer (7) provides a light source (2) to reset rest charges by illuminating the pixel elements. A first electrode (6) may be provided on a substrate (1), on which the electro-luminescent layer (7) is formed. A second transparent electrode (8) may be formed on the electro-luminescent layer (7). The pixel elements (3,4) are then provided on the second electrode (8).
