abstract |
A method for making a porous cage structure used in a roll bearing comprises the following steps: (1) a polyimide resin acting as the porous matrix material for the cage structure is mixed with another heat-resistant resin that has a similar moulding temperature range to the polyimide and can be leached out of the polyimide using a solvent; (2) the resin mixture is moulded into the chosen cage structure shape; and (3) the cage structure is treated with solvent to leach out the heat-resistant resin but not the polyimide. |
