abstract The fuel injection system (1) is used in an internal combustion engine. It has a channel (62) for high-pressure fuel running toward the nozzle (11a) form a filter (60) connected to the fuel supply, and there is a low-pressure channel (64,67,68) for fuel leakage back to a return fuel connection (55,55a) at the top end of the injector assembly. there is an electrically operated valve (30) which operates a valve rod (22) which opens and closes a spray valve (20) at the nozzle. The system includes a ball (43) with a flat pressing on a layer of low-friction material on a pressure plate (51). The low friction material may be titanium nitride, chromium nitride or diamond-like carbon.
