| abstract | The movable sphere segments (2a-3a) are guided by cams (12,13) and complementary guides (12a,13a) fitted on the underside of the segments and making point contact or again releasably bolted to one another with clearance. Bolting is effected by a latch connection (18) to be made and broken radial to the preferably hollow sphere. Circular rings on a support structure on the fixed segments inside the sphere serve as cam guides. Guide grooves (17) let into the preferably hollow plastics sphere itself take the bases of the control cams (12,13), with the movable segments spaced both sides of the guide groove walls. The movable segments make point contact with the guide groove (17) walls and bottom. The cams form grooves let into the sphere or the plastics support structure to take the guide elements (13a,14a) riding the cam-designed underside of the movable segments (2a,3a). |
