titleOfInvention Method for determining the displacement of substances dissolved in soil water and device for carrying out the method
abstract In a process to determine the movement of dissolved substances in ground water within a porous medium, a mixture (4) is prepared of: (i) filling material which is has similar hydraulic characteristics to that of the soil in question; and (ii) an absorbent which binds the impurities within the ground water. The mixture is placed in a container (1) open at both ends but closed by water-permeable caps (5). The container (1) is placed within a shaft in the porous medium under examination, and is removed after a pre-determined time. The mixture (4) is analysed and the results reported. Also claimed is an apparatus for the above process.
