titleOfInvention casing
abstract Disclosed is an enclosure for an electrical or electronic component, especially for a vehicle control unit, the enclosure parts or connections of which are so designed that said electrical or electronic component can be water-sealed or air-sealed. Such enclosures, even when made only partly of thermoplastic material, are provided with pressure compensating means, thereby enabling continuous adjustment of the enclosure inner pressure to the outer pressure. Owing to such pressure adjustment, gas, especially water steam, is prevented from flowing under pressure up to the electrical or electronic component via the plastic enclosure, resulting in significantly reduced damage by humidity and extended operating life.
